Mugna artisan at work

Est. 2021

Our Story

The Beginning

Born from Bukidnon Soil

MUGNA was born in Malaybalay, Bukidnon in 2021 — a city that has long been a wellspring of Filipino craftsmanship, music, and weaving. Our founder, a musician himself, saw in the artisan community a talent that leather could amplify.

The name Mugna is a Visayan word meaning “to create” or “to make.” It speaks to the core of everything we do: intentional making, without shortcuts.

We source full-grain, vegetable-tanned hides from ethical suppliers and hand them to a small team of artisans who have learned leather from the inside out — some who were carpenters, musicians, or weavers before they became leatherworkers.
